The event is organised by East Hull Harriers & AC. And it takes place in East Park over a distance of 2.2 kilometres.
This years event was held on Tuesday 13th May 2014 and it was contested by 127 boys and girls. The ages of the children ranged from 3yrs to 15yrs.
Joshua Hood, aged 12 years and representing St Mary’s School, was the winner of the race in a time of 8m 29s.
Ashley Porter aged 15 years and representing Headlands School, was the runner up, recording a time of 8m 35s.
Eight athletes from Kingston upon Hull Athletic Club competed in this years event. Four of them finished in the top 6.
Abbie Haigh who is 12 years old, finished in 3rd place overall in the race and was the winner of the girls race, crossing the finish line in a new record time for the run of 9m 01s.
Elliot Lawrence aged 13 years finished in 4th place and was the third boy to cross the line. His time was 9m 02s.
Connor Pickering aged 10 years, was placed 5th and he was the fourth boy to cross the line. His time was 9m 12s.
Katy Greenacre aged 12 years was the second girl across the finish line and was in 6th position overall. Her time was 9 24s.
Holly Lawrence who is 13 years old was the 7th girl to finish and 28th overall in a time of 10m 53s
Niamh Derbyshire aged 11 years was the 9th girl to finish and 32nd overall. Her recorded time was 11m 05s.
Tonisha Pickering aged 8 years finished in 16th place in the girls race and 50th overall, recording a time of 12m 17s.
Jessica Townsend aged 11 years was 17th in the girls race and 51st overall in a time of 12m 18s
