40th Humberside Track & Field Championships

Kingston upon Hull Athletic Club was represented in most of the events at the last weekends 40th annual Humberside Track & Field Championships.

All of our athletes gave their utmost efforts and there were many PB’s attained on the day. The performances of them all were greatly appreciated by the spectators and by everyone concerned with our club.

There were two performances that are worthy of special mention. These athletes both won their events and in doing so, not only did they set new PB’s but they set new Championship records in the process.

Luke Giblin  was the winner of the 100 metre race for senior men. He set a new Championship record and new personal best of 10.6s.

Maggie Okul was the winner of the hammer throw for U17 Women. She set a new  Championship record and a new personal best of  52.94m.

 

The results of all the KuHac  athletes who performed at the Championships are as follows:-

100 metres – senior men

Luke Giblin won the race in a new championship record time of 10.6s.

Callum Giles was the silver medallist in a time of 11.1s.

Gideon Okoh took the bronze, also registering a time of 11.1s

Curtis Metcalfe was in 5th position. His time was 11.8s

200 metres – senior men

Callum Giles won the gold medal setting a new PB of 22.2s.

400 metres – senior men

Daniel Holiday was the gold medal winner. He ran the race in 52.1s.

800 metres – senior men

Liam Holiday took the gold medal in a time of 2:06.7s

High Jump – senior men

Curtis Metcalfe won the event attaining a height of 1.60m

Long Jump – senior men

Gideon Okoh struck gold and set a new PB of 6.03m.

Sam Dewsbury took the silver medal with a jump of 6.0m.

Triple Jump – senior men

Gideon Okoh won another gold with a distance of 11.05m.

Pole Vault – senior men

Liam Holiday won his second gold medal of the day, reaching a height of 3.20m.

Shot Putt – senior men

John Twiddle, who is one of our most respected and consistent performers, was competing in his 31st Humberside Championships and took the gold medal with a putt of 11.20m.

Discus – senior men

John Twiddle won another gold with a throw of 31.85m

Hammer throw – senior men

Alex Smith took gold with a throw of 72.10m. This was another ‘B’ standard qualifying distance for Commonwealth Games selection.

James Bedford won silver with a throw of 69.72m. James is also pushing hard for selection for the games

John Twiddle took the bronze medal with a distance of 40.60m.

100 metres – junior men

Joseph Cooper took the gold and also set a new PB of 11.4s.

Brady Richardson won the bronze recording a time of 12.5s.

200 metres – junior men

Joseph Cooper won the silver medal, setting a new PB of 23.1s.

Adam Preston won the bronze, also setting a new PB of 23.1s.

Brady Richardson finished in 5th place in a time of 25.8s.

400 metres – junior men

Daniel Gray won the race in a registered time 51.1s.

Adam Preston took the silver in a time of 51.8s.

 

1500 metres – junior men

Adam Oxley won the gold medal, running the race in 4:12.1s.

Oliver Newton took the silver in a time of 4:24.2s.

3000 metres – junior men

Jack Michaels won the silver medal. He ran the race in 10:17.5s.

High jump – junior men

Matthew Elvidge was the winner of the silver medal with a height of 1.40m.

Long jump – junior men

Matthew Elvidge won the competition with a jump measuring 6.11m.

James Wardle was runner up with his best jump being one of 5.90m.

100 metres – U17 men

Dominic Singh won the gold and set a new PB of 11.2s.

Matthew Backhouse won the silver and also set a new PB of 11.2s.

Andrew Morgan-Harrison won the bronze in a time of 11.4s.

200 metres – U17 men

Dominic Singh won his second gold medal setting another PB of 22.4s.

Andrew Morgan-Harrison took the silver in a time of 23.0s.

400 metres – U17 men

Marcel Dalee was the winner of the gold medal and took a full 1.1 seconds of his previous best. Setting a new PB of 52.7s.

800 metres – U17 men

Connor Bingham won the race and in the process set a new PB of 2:07.4s.

1500 metres – U17 men

Tom Whitley was the bronze medal winner and set a new PB of 5:02.7s.

3000 metres – U17 men

Shaun Smith won the gold in a time of 9:30.9s.

 

 

Long jump – U17 men

Eliot Gay was the winner of the bronze medal and he set a new PB of 5.40m.

Macalley Morgan took 4th place with a new PB of 5.19m.

Nathan Hood finished in 5th place with a jump of 5.02m.

Triple jump – U17 men

Macalley Morgan won the gold medal and set a new PB of 10.91m.

Nathan Hood took the silver and also set a new PB of 10.25m.

Pole vault – U17 men

Macalley Morgan won the silver medal with a height of 2.30m.

Nathan Hood won the bronze. He also attained 2.30m.Which was a new PB.

100 metres – U15 boys

Tom Burkill finished in 5th place and set a new PB of 13.0s.

200 metres – U15 boys

Tom Burkill was placed in 6th position, setting another PB of 27.1s.

300 metres – U15 boys

Adam Egan won the bronze medal and set a new PB of 42.9s.

800 metres – U15 boys

Adam Egan won another bronze medal in a time of 2:23.1s.

Long jump – U15 boys

Tom Burkill achieved 4th place and set a new PB with a jump of jump of 4.72m.

Shot putt – U15 boys

Joshua Tranmer won the gold medal and also set a new PB with a putt of 11.22m.

Discus – U15 boys

Joshua Tranmer won his second gold of the day and set another PB with a throw of 36.04m.

80 metres – U11 boys

Divaldo Agostinho won the silver medal and set a new PB of 12.4s.

Alex Grant finished in 5th place and set a new PB of 12.9S.

150 metres – U11 boys

Divaldo Agostinho won his second silver of the day and set another new PB of 22.8s.

Alex Grant took 5th place setting a time of 25.4s.

600 metres – U11 boys

Fabian Vidal won the bronze medal with a time of 2:09.7s.

100 metres – senior women

Megan Hoult won the race in a time of 12.0s.

200 metres – senior women

Megan Hoult won her second gold medal setting a time of 25.1s.

Discus – junior women

Kate Pattison won the event with a throw of 39.39m.

100 metres – U17 women

Luci Preston took the gold and set a new PB of 12.8s.

Meagan Grant was the silver medallist with a time of 13.1s.

Sarah Bromwich was in 6th place and set a new PB of 14.2s.

200 metres – U17 women

Luci Preston won the race in a time of 26.7s.

Emma-Jo Huckstep won the bronze and set a new PB of 30.0s.

80 metre hurdles – U17 women

Chloe Sole won the gold medal in a time of 13.5s.

High jump – U17 women

Hollie Smith was the gold medallist attaining a height of 1.55m.

Long jump – U17 women

Megan Grant was the winner of the event and set a new PB of 4.44m.

Chloe Sole took the silver medal with 4.36m.

Maddie Storr won the bronze with 3.86m.

 

Shot putt – U17 women

Sophie O’Hara was the gold medallist with a winning putt of 10.17m.

Maggie Okul took the silver and set a new PB of 9.84m.

Discus – U17 women

Sophie O’Hara won the event with a best throw of 28.78m.

Javelin – U17 women

Maggie Okul won the event with a throw of 25.66m.

Hammer – U17 women

Maggie Okul won the gold medal and set a new PB and a new Championship Record of 52.94m.

100 metres – U15 girls

Amelia Benson won the silver medal and set a new PB of 12.9s.

Hannah Kynman won the bronze and set a new PB of 13.0s.

Gabrielle Whittle took 4th place and also set a new PB of 13.1s.

200 metres – U15 girls

Hannah Kynman won the silver medal and set a new PB of 26.3s.

Gabrielle Whittle won the bronze and set a new PB of 26.7s.

Amelia Benson took 4th place and also set a new PB of 27.0s

800 metres – U15 girls

Martha Savage won the bronze medal in a time of 2:35.6s.

Natalie Bell was in 4th position and her time was 2:37.3s.

Sophie Huckstep finished 7th in a time of 2:46.9s

Lucy Savery was in 8th place in 2:48.3s

75 metre hurdles – 15 girls

Venus Morgan was the gold medallist in a time of 12.5s.

High jump – U15 girls

Bryony Underwood won the silver medal with a height of 1.35m.

 

Long jump – U15 girls

Venus Morgan won the gold medal with a jump measuring 4.30m.

Pole vault – U15 girls

Natalie Varga won the gold and set a new PB of 2.30m.

Discus – U15 girls

Olivia Stevenson won the gold medal with a throw of 51.66m.

Hammer – U15 girls

Olivia Stevenson won another gold medal with a throw of 51.66m.

100 metres – U13 girls

Holly Solway was the gold medallist setting a time of 14.5s.

Sam Kyriacou took the silver medal in a time of 14.7s.

Ciara Andrews won the bronze and set a new PB of 14.7s.

Gina De Lancey took 6th place and set a new PB of 15.2s.

200 metres – U13 girls

Holly Solway was the winner of the race in a time of 29.3s.

Sam Kyriacou was the silver medallist in 29.7s.

800 metres – U13 girls

Abbie Haigh followed up her victory in the recent East Park School Run with a gold medal in this event. She also set a new PB of 2:42.9s.

Ella Draper was the silver medallist and she too set a new PB of 2:45.2s.

70 metre hurdles – U13 girls

Ciara Andrews won the gold medal and also set a new PB of 12.7s.

Gina De Lancey won the bronze and set a new PB of 14.0s.

Emily Dye took 4th place and also set a new PB of 14.0s.

 

 

 

 

Shot putt – U13 girls

Sam Kyriacou won the gold medal and set a new PB of 6.31m.

Faye Oliver won the silver medal with a new PB of 6.03m.

Ciara Andrews won the bronze medal with 5.27m.

Gina De Lancey took 4th place with 5.18m.

Niamh Derbyshire was in 7th place with3.28m.

Long jump – U13 girls

Abbie Haigh was the gold medallist with a new PB of 3.94m.

Holly Solway won the bronze medal with 3.83m.

Ellie Townsend was place d 4th with 3.75m.

Niamh Derbyshire was 7th with 3.28m.

High jump – U13 girls

Abbie Haigh took another gold medal with a height of 1.15m.

Eleanor Townsend was the silver medallist also with 1.15m.
