UK Youth Development League – North East 2 – Round 2

 

This meeting was held at the Woodbourn Road Stadium in Sheffield on Sunday 1st June 2014.It is a competition for youth teams. That is athletes in the U17 and U20 age groups.

The other clubs competing against us were:-   Grimsby Harriers  – Hallamshire Harriers  –  Spenborough Athletic Club and Bingley Harriers.

Kingston upon Hull were runners -up on the day and we collected 4 league points which puts us in 2nd place in the league table.

It was a hot day in Sheffield with long spells of sunshine. The conditions were near perfect for both the athletes and the spectators.

Details of performances of all of our athletes are as follows.

100 metres – U20 men

Joseph Cooper was in 4th position in the ‘A’ race He recorded a time of 11.4s.

200 metres – U20 men

Joseph Cooper was again placed 4th in the ‘A’ race and he set a new PB of 23.1s.

Adam Preston was the winner of the ‘B’ race and his time was 23.0s.

400 metres – U20 men

Daniel Gray took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and his time was 53.1s.

Adam Preston was again the winner of the ‘B’ race with a time of 51.1s.

1500 metres – U20 men

Adam Oxley took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race in a time of 4:14.1s.

Oliver Newton won the ‘B’ race and set a new PB of 4:20.5s.

3000 metres – U20 men

Jack Michaels finished 2nd in the ‘A’ race and recorded a time of 10:59.1s.

2000 metre Steeplechase – U20 men

Oliver Newton was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he also set a new PB of 6:55.6s.

Joshua Taylor-Brown won the ‘B’ race and he too set a new PB of 6:56.3s.

 

Hammer Throw – U20 men

Joshua Taylor-Brown competed in his first Hammer competition. He took 2nd place with a throw of 9.69m.

Javelin – U20 men

Matthew Elvidge was in 3rd place in the ‘A’ competition with a throw of 18.19m.

Jack Michaels also finished 3rd in the ‘B’ competition and he set a new PB of 10.05m.

Shot Putt – U20 men

Joseph Cooper came 2nd in the ‘A’ event and set a new PB of 8.08m.

Adam Preston was the winner of the ‘B’ event with a putt of 7.23m.

Long Jump – U20 men

Nathan Hood was in 4th place in the ‘A’ event with a jump of 4.81m.

Matthew Elvidge was the winner of the ‘B’ event with 4.36m.

Pole Vault – U20 men

Macalley Morgan won the ‘A’ event reaching a height of 2.05m.

100 metres – U17 men

Dominic Singh was the winner of the ‘A’ race and his time was 11.2s.

Andrew Morgan-Harrison won the ‘B’ race and his time was 11.5s.

200 metres – U17 men

Dominic Singh won the ‘A’ race and recorded a time of 22.8s.

Andrew Morgan-Harrison won the ‘B’ race and his time was 23.0s.

400 metres – U17 men

Marcel Dalee was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he also set a new PB of 52.6s.

Rob Larkin took 2nd place in the ‘B’ race and he too set a new PB of 56.3s.

800 metres – U17 men

Connor Bingham was in 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and he set a new PB of 2:06.4s

1500 metres –U17 men

Tom Whitley finished in 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and set a new PB of 4:41.7s.

Jack Brothwell also finished 2nd in the ‘B’ race and his time was 5:09.6s.

3000 metres – U17 men

Shaun Smith was the winner of the ‘A’ race and his time was 10:06.2s.

100 metre Hurdles – U17 men

Nathan Hood was in 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and he set a new PB of 18.6s.

Javelin – U17 men

Shaun Smith took 3rd place in the ‘A’ event and set a new PB of 20.20m.

Long Jump – U17 men

Macalley Morgan took 3rd place in the ‘A’ event with a jump of 5.17m.

Triple Jump – U17 men

Nathan Hood finished in 3rd place in the ‘A’ event recording a best effort of 10.66m.

Pole Vault – U17 men

Nathan Hood took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event and set a new PB of 2.60m.

100 metres – U20 women

Luci Preston was 2nd in the ‘A’ race and her recorded time was 12.8s.

200 metres – U20 women

Luci Preston came 2nd in the ‘A’ race and her time was 26.3s.

800metres – U20 women

Jess Cappleman took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and her time was 2:36.9s.

1500 metres – U20 women

Jess Cappleman finished in 2nd place in the ‘A’ race with a time of 5:33.0s.

Discus – U20 women

Sophie O’Hara won the ‘A’ competition with a throw of 30.13m.

Hammer – U20 women

Sophie O’Hara finished 4th in the ‘A’ event in what was her first ever hammer competition. She threw 14.40.

Javelin – U20 women

Maggie Okul won the ‘A’ competition with a best throw of 22.74m.

 

Shot Putt – U20 women

Sophie O’Hara took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition with a putt of 8.83m.

Triple Jump – U20 women

Luci Preston took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition with a new PB of 8.99m.

100 metres – U17 women

Megan Grant was 3rd in the ‘A’ race in a time of 13.2s.

Chloe Sole was 3rd in the ‘B’ race and set a new PB of 13.7s.

200 metres – U17 women

Megan Grant took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and her time was 27.8s.

Sian Kerry was 3rd in the ‘B’ race and she also set a new PB of 31.5s.

300 metres – U17 women

Amelia Robinson was the winner of the ‘A’ race and set a new PB of 44.3s.

Emma Jo Huckstep won the ‘B’ race and her time was 48.8s.

80 metre Hurdles – U17 women

Chloe Sole took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race in a time of 12.9s.

Discus – U17 women

Laura Copley won the event with a best throw of 35.80m.

Hammer – U17 women

Maggie Okul was the winner of the event with a throw of 49.45m.

Javelin – U17 women

Sian Kerry was the winner of the event and also set a new PB of 24.82m.

Shot Putt – U17 women

Laura Copley won the event and also set a new PB of 11.12m.

Long Jump – U17 women

Megan Grant took 3rd place and set a new PB of 4.42m.

Triple Jump – U17 women

Maggie Okul took 2nd place with a best jump of 8.26m.

High Jump – U17 women

Jamila Hurley was the winner of the event and she also set a new PB of 1.60m.

Relay Results

4 x 100 metres – U20 men

Dominic Singh – Andy Morgan-Harrison – Joe Cooper and Nathan Hood were placed 3rd and the team recorded a time of 47.7s.

4 x 400 metres – U20 men

Daniel Gray – Adam Preston – Oliver Newton and Adam Oxley were the winners of the race and their time was 3:36.9s.

4 x 100 metres – U17 women

Luci Preston – Megan Grant – Chloe Sole and Sian Kerry finished in 2nd place and their recorded time was 53.66s.
