This is a competition which involves not only senior and veteran athletes, but also members of our Under 17 & Under 20 Youth Teams, who gain valuable experience and learn how to compete against good opposition.

 

The ages of our athletes ranged from the teens, through 20’s,30’s,40’s and 50’s

 

Our opposition came from:-  City of Manchester – Wakefield – Preston –  Blackburn and Derby.

 

It was an awful day in Manchester and the rain poured down during the entirety of the competition accompanied by regular bouts of thunder and lightning.

 

We picked up 3 points from the competition which leaves us sitting in 3rd place in the league table.

100 metres – men

 

* Callum Giles took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and set a new PB of 10.9s.

 

Joseph Cooper also achieved 2nd place in the ‘B’ race ad ran a time of 11.5s.

 

200 metres – men

 

* Callum Giles took another 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and set another PB of 22.0s.

 

Joseph Cooper finished 3rd in the ‘B’ race and he also recorded a new PB of 22.9s.

 

400 metres – men

 

Daniel Gray finished 4th in the ‘A’ race and his recorded time was 50.5s.

 

Adam Preston claimed 2nd place in the ‘B’ race and his time was 51.4s.

 

800 metres – men

 

Jonathon Beharrell finished in 4th place in the ‘A’ race and he ran a time of 1:59.7s.

 

* Liam Holiday also finished 4th in the ‘B’ race and his recorded time was 2:07.8s.

 

1500 metres – men

 

Jack Michaels was in 6th place in the ‘A’ race and he also set a new PB of 4:52.3s.

 

* Demitri Agathangelou finished in 5th place in the ‘B’ race and he set a new PB of 5:26.8s.

 

3000 metres steeplechase – men

 

Joshua Taylor-Brown was in 5th place in the ‘A’ race and he recorded a time of 10:40.5s

 

5000 metres –men

 

Jack Michaels finished in 6th place in the ‘A’ race and he also set a new PB of 18:01.3s.

 

400 metre hurdles – men

 

Joshua Taylor Brown took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and also set a new PB of 70.0s.

 

Jack Michaels also finished in 3rd place in the ‘B’ race and he too set a new PB of 65.0s.

 

110 metre hurdles – men

 

* Sam Dewsbury took 4th place in the ‘A’ race and also set a new PB of 22.7s.

 

Hammer – men

 

* Peter Smith was the winner of the ‘A’ event with a throw measuring 58.06m.

 

* John Twiddle won the ‘B’ event with a best throw of 40.45m.

 

Discus –men

 

*Peter Smith took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event with a seasons best throw of 28.27m.

 

* Jonothan Ainsworth was the winner of the ‘B’ event with a throw of 26.33m.

 

Javelin – men

 

* Peter Smith took 4th place in the ‘A’ event with another seasons best effort of 36.16m.

 

*Liam Holiday also finished 4th in the ‘B’ event and he too threw a seasons best of 31.35m.

 

Shot putt – men

 

*John Twiddle was the winner of the ‘A’ event with a best putt of 11.55m.

 

*Jonathan Ainsworth took 3rd place in the ‘B’ event with a seasons best putt of 9.12m.

 

Long jump – men

 

*Sam Dewsbury took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event with a jump of 6.05m.

 

James Wardle was 2nd in the ‘B’ event with a best of 5.78m.

 

Triple jump – men

 

Macalley Morgan was in 5th place in the ‘B’ event his best effort being 10.54m.

 

Nathan Hood finished in 5th in the ‘B’ event with a best of 10.15m.

 

High jump – men

 

*Sam Dewsbury took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event setting a new PB of 1.70m

 

*Curtis Metcalfe was also in 2nd in the ‘B’ event with a height of 1.65m.

 

Pole vault – men

 

Nathan Hood was in 3rd place in the ‘A’ event with a new PB of 2.70m.

 

Macalley Morgan was in 2nd place in the ‘B’ event with a seasons best effort of 2.40m.

 

100 metres – women

 

*Megan Hoult took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race with a recorded time of 12.1s.

 

Luci Preston was also 2nd in the ‘B’ race and her time was 12.9s.

 

200 metres – women

 

Luci Preston finished 4th in the ‘A’ race and her time was 26.6s.

 

*Sonia Santos was the winner of the ‘B’ race with a seasons best time of 26.2s.

 

400 metres – women

 

Amelia Robinson was in 5th position and she set a new PB of 60.5s.

 

800 metres – women

 

Jessica Cappleman finished in 6th place in the ‘A’ race and recorded a seasons best time of 2:35.1s.

 

1500 metres – women

 

*Laura Egan finished in 6th in the ‘A’ race and ran her best time of the season 5:29.3s.

 

Jessica Cappleman was 4th in the ‘B’ race and ran her fastest time this season 5:31.8s

 

3000 metres – women

 

*Laura Egan was placed 5th in the ‘A’ race and she also set a new PB of 11:19.3s.

 

400 metre hurdles – women

 

*Sonia Santos was the winner of the ‘A’ race and her time was 67.8s.

 

100 metre hurdles – women

 

*Sonia Santos won the ‘A’ race and ran her fastest time of the season at 15.6s.

 

 

 

 

 

Hammer – women

 

Maggie Okul took 3rd place in the ‘A’ event with a throw of 42.14m.

 

*Diane Smith was the winner of the ‘B’ event throwing a distance of 31.88m.

 

Discus – women

 

Sophie O’Hara finished 4th in the ‘A’ event with a best throw of 28.03m.

 

*Diane Smith took 2nd place in the ‘B’ event with a best of 18.16m.

 

Javelin – women

 

Sophie O’Hara finished 5th in the ‘A’ competition and set a new PB of 21.35m.

 

Maggie Okul was 4th in the ‘B’ competition with a best throw of 21.33m.

 

Shot putt – women

 

Sophie O’Hara was 4th in the ‘A’ event with a putt of 8.77m.

 

Maggie Okul was also 4th in the ‘B’ competition and she also set a new PB of 8.19m.

 

Long jump – women

 

*Megan Hoult was placed 6th in the ‘A’ competition with a seasons best jump of 4.23m.

 

Megan Grant came 5th in the ‘B’ competition with a best effort of 4.16m.

 

Triple jump – women

 

*Clare Blunt took 3rd place in the ‘A’ event and set a new PB of 10.05m.

 

Luci Preston was in 4th place in the ‘B’ competition with a best of 8.89m.

 

High jump – women

 

*Clare Blunt finished in 4th position in the ‘A’ event reaching a height of 1.45m.

 

*Megan Hoult was 4th in the ‘B’ event setting a new PB of 1.10m.

 

Pole vault – women
