Kingston upon Hull Athletic Club
UK Youth Development League – North East 2 – Match 4
Princess Mary Stadium Cleckheaton – Sunday 27th July 2014
This was the final league meeting of the 2014 season and our youth team athletes will now be concentrating their efforts on the Northern Athletic Championships held this year in Wigan and the Northern Inter Counties Championships at Derby. They will also be striving to attain the qualifying standards to enable them to compete at the England under17 & under15 Championships in Bedford. All these competitions will take place during the month of August.
Two of our young ladies have also been selected to represent North East England at the UK School Games in Manchester in September.
In the final league match we once again did battle with our rivals from the Athletic clubs of:-
Spenborough and District – Hallamshire – Bingley – Grimsby
It was an extremely hot day in the West Riding of Yorkshire, the temperature reached a high on the day of 27 degrees and the humidity was oppressive. We saw another great performance from our team, which saw us finish as runners up on the day and also as runners up in the league. Hallamshire Harriers were promoted to North East 1 for the 2015 season and we send our congratulations and best wishes to them for next season.
Our club will be making strenuous efforts to ensure that in 2015 both of our youth teams will be very competitive and we hope to see two successful promotion campaigns.
