Barton Fun Runs – Sunday 2^nd November 2014

This event is hosted and organised by Barton and District Athletic Club and it consists of two cross country races, one over 1000 metres and the second over 2000 metres .

They are mixed races for junior athletes of both sexes who compete against each other.

It was a windy day and the course was slow.

1000 metres race

The race was contested by 48 athletes and Kingston were represented by Eleanor Townsend and Holly Lawrence.

Eleanor finished in 3^rd place and recorded a time 05:13.0s

Holly finished in 5^th place and her run was timed at 05:37.0s

It was a great effort by the two girls and we are very proud of them.

2000 metres race

There were 59 contestants in this race and we were represented by Elliot Lawrence and Jessica Townsend. Jess was running her 2^nd race of the weekend, following her appearance at the National cross country relays Championships on the previous day.

Elliot finished in 4^th place and he ran a time of 9:48.0s

Jessica was placed 17^th and her recorded time was 11:47.0s

Two more fantastic performances and our congratulations go to both of them.
