Hull Daily Mail Sporting Champions Awards 2014

The annual Hull Daily Mail Sporting Champion’s awards presentations were held on the evening of Thursday 6^th of November 2014, in the Kingston Suite at the KC stadium.

Almost 300 people, athletes and their families, special guests and sporting celebrities attended the presentation night, which recognised the efforts and abilities of the enormous abundance of sporting talent within the Hull and East Riding area.

Two members of our youth team had been nominated for the Junior Girl of the Year (16 to 18) category.

Charlotte Paterson who has had an outstanding season, winning silver medals at both the English School Games and the UK school Games and gold at the Northern Championships.

Maggie Okul has also enjoyed a very successful season winning bronze at the National Championships and double gold at the Northern’s. She also set new championship best performances at both the Northern and the Humberside championships.

Maggie was the winner of the award and her friend Charlotte who would have been an equally worthy winner was the first person to congratulate her.

It was a proud night for the girls and for our club.

Great credit should go also to their coaches, Dean Lewis and Dave and Di Smith.
