UK Youth Development League
Northern Division 2 – Match 2
Costello Stadium Hull – Saturday 16th May 2015
The Kingston Youth Teams (under17 & under 20) second league meeting of the track and field season was held at their home track at the Costello Stadium, Hull.
Our opposition once again came from the teams representing Rotherham Harriers & AC, Spenborough and District AC, Bingley Harriers & AC, and Grimsby Harriers.
It was a mostly dry day with sunny spells, but also a gusty and biting wind which made for difficult conditions on both the track and the field.
Kingston went into this meeting as the league leaders following our opening victory at Cleckheaton in April and we needed to win our home fixture to consolidate that victory.
Another magnificent effort from our athletes saw us sweep to victory by 179 match points. We are now 2 points clear at the top of the league and travel on the 28th of June to the Herringthorpe stadium, home track of our closest challengers Rotherham, for round three.
Full details of the team’s performances are as follows.
100 metres & 200 metres sprints – under 20 men

Andrew Morgan-Harrison ran the ‘B’ race which he won in a time of 11.8s, but was the victim of terrible luck. As he wound down after crossing the finish line he suffered hamstring problems which put him out of the rest of the meeting.
Joe Cooper took another 2nd place finish in the 200 metres which he ran in his typical gutsy style, clocking 23.7s for his efforts. 15 year old Kyle Foster, who was making his league debut for Kingston, stepped in at short notice to fill in for the unfortunate Andy. Despite his nerves he did a great job for the team and took 3rd place in the ‘B’ race with a run of 27.1s.
