Northern Senior League – Division 1

Thorne’s Park, Wakefield

Saturday 8th August 2015

Kingston upon Hull Athletic Clubs final senior league meeting of the current track and field season, took place at Thorne’s Park, the home of Wakefield Harriers, on Saturday 8th of August 2015.

Once again the team was a potent mix of master and senior athletes and the rising talents from the clubs youth system.

In addition to the Wakefield club, our other opponents were Sale Harriers, Preston Harriers, Derby Athletic Club and Blackburn Harriers. Going into the match Blackburn and Wakefield were the joint league leaders, with both on 13 points. Kingston were sitting in 3rd place on 12 points.

Everything was up for grabs on the day, and it made for a great atmosphere and a tense and closely fought encounter, both on the track and in the field.

We enjoyed a fine summers day over in the West Riding. Temperatures reached 23 degrees and it was very humid.

The Kingston athletes put in a very good team performance, and there were some excellent new PB’s posted on both track and field. The first three teams were separated by a mere 14 event points.

Kingston upon Hull finished the day in 3rd place, the 4 league points we collected put us in the runners up spot. Behind the 2015 Division 1 champions Wakefield Harriers.
