Finish Line Open Meeting
E.I.S Sheffield – Saturday 2nd January 2016
Two of the clubs senior athletes and fifteen youth and junior athletes made the journey over to Sheffield’s English Institute of Sports Stadium, to compete at the ‘Finish Line’ indoor open meeting, on Saturday 2nd January 2016.
Over the next two months both the Northern indoor and the England Indoor Championships will be staged at the E.I.S, and these meetings are on the agenda’s of most of these athletes, and possibly all of them. This competition gave the opportunity to run, throw or jump in the stadium in preparation for the big forthcoming events, and for the runners to try and master the steep bends at the E.I.S.
There were excellent performances from our athletes on the track, with lots of personal bests and season’s best performances, from our sprints and middle distance runners. In the field events pride of place must go to 12 year old shot putter Holly Adams, who won her competition, and set a new PB, which moved her up the rankings to UK ranked No. 1.
