Antrim International Cross Country Meeting

Kingston’s 19 year old middle distance and distance runner Harry Powell received his first representative call up for the International cross country meeting, which was held in Antrim, Northern Ireland, on Saturday 16th of January 2016.
Harry was chosen to represent Northern England in the under 20 men’s 5.5 kilometre race, which was staged over a golf course. Snow had fallen on the course but it did not remain on the ground for too long, but it was a chilly day. It was an undulating course, with one short burst hill and it was very wet and muddy.
Harry put in a tremendous performance, against some of the best cross country runners in the UK. He covered the course in a time of 17:51s, to finish the race in a magnificent 5th place.
Harry thoroughly deserved his International vest it couldn’t have gone to a better athlete or a better person. Kingston upon Hull Athletic Club is very proud of Harry Powell and we hope this is the first of many honours that will come his way.
