The Hull Park run is a 5 kilometres race which takes place in Hull’s East Park every Saturday morning with a 9:00am start park runs are staged in towns and cities all over the UK every weekend and they are immensely popular and attract huge numbers of competitors.

Three of Kingston’s under20 middle distance and distance runners were among the field of  324 runners who were in competition at the Hull Park Run on Saturday the 10th of December.

The Northern track & field 3000 metres and 5000 metres champion Harry Powell who has been in majestic form throughout 2016 was the winner of the race and his recorded time over the course of 15:01s was the 2nd fastest time in the history of the Hull Park Run and was also the fastest time recorded on the day at any of the parks runs throughout the whole of the UK.

The 2nd place finisher in East Park was Shaun Smith who was out of action for almost seven months during this year he has done really well at cross country events and on the road in the last few months where he has been getting back to his best form. He covered the course in a time of 15:58s.

The County cross country champion and County 1500 metres silver medallist Jack Brothwell ran the course in a time of 17:26s which saw him cross the finishing line in 5th place.
