‘Sale Harriers’ Indoor Open Meeting
Sport City, Manchester – Sunday 7th January 2018
On the first weekend of 2018 seven of Kingston upon Hull AC’s athletes travelled over to Manchester to compete at the ‘Sale Harriers’ open meeting which was staged on the indoor track at the Sport City stadium. All of them were making their 2018 competitive debuts at this event.
Under 20 – Men
Joshua Sampson was in action in race 5 of the 60 metre sprint series and the County Schools 100 and 200 metre champion ran a season’s best time of 7.59 sec to take a 2nd place finish.
Kyle Foster the County Schools 800 metre champion went in the second of the 600 metre race series where he was a 6th place finisher and ran a season’s best time of 1:32.94 sec.
Under 20 – Women
County 100 and 200 metre champion Hannah Kynman was in action in race 9 of the of the 60metres series where she was a 5th place finisher and ran a season’s best time of 8.18 sec.
Amy Sampson went in race 10 of the 60 metres where a season’s best run of 8.58 sec saw the County 100 metre silver medallist take a 4th place finish.
Chloe Constable had her first competitive outing since last April in race 11 of the 60 metres, where she was the race winner and ran a new PB of 8.54 sec clipping 0.13 of a second off her previous best time.
Also running in race 11 was Jasmine Herbison who was making her competitive and club debut appearance. She took 2nd place behind her training partner Chloe and established a new personal best performance of 8.71 sec.
Under 15 – Boys
Jack Singleton was in action in two races and he set new PB’s in both of them. He went in race 22 of the 60 metre sprints series where he took 2nd place and clipped a hundredth of a second off his previous best to set a new PB of 8.37 sec. His second outing was in the under 15 boy’s 60 metre hurdles, where he was making his debut run over the 60 metre distance in a hurdles race and he was the winner of the race establishing a new personal best time for the event of 10.08 sec.
