UK Youth Development League – Under 13’s & Under 15’s

Herringthorpe Stadium, Rotherham – Sunday 17th June 2018
The Kingston Junior team’s third league match of the 2018 season took place at the Herringthorpe stadium in Rotherham. The team travelled there as league leaders, having won their home fixture at Costello in match 2 and replaced Rotherham Harriers at the top of the table. The other teams in competition were Chesterfield AC, Doncaster AC and Lincoln Wellington. The match saw another tremendous tussle between Kingston and Rotherham. This time it was Rotherham who prevailed by just 14.5 match points, which saw them take over again at the top of the table.
The league table after the match sees Rotherham in 1st place with 14 league points, Kingston 2nd on 13 points, Chesterfield 3rd with 8, Doncaster 4th on 7 and Lincoln 5th with 3 points. The final match takes place at Doncaster on Saturday 21st of July, where the title will be won by either Kingston or Rotherham. The other 3 teams cannot amass enough league points to catch them.

Under 13’s
Sprints
Noah Sibary took 3rd place in the boys 100 metre sprints ‘A’ race, running a time of 14.6sec. In the ‘B’ race Nathan Hope ran a new PB of 15.7 sec, an improvement of 1/10th tenth of a second, for a 3rd place finish. In the girls 75 metre sprints Tilly Cairns was the winner of the ‘A’ with her run of 10.4 sec. Libby Hakney made it a double victory, winning the ‘B’ and posting a time of 10.8 sec. The boys 200 metres saw Will Fairburn take 2nd place in the ‘A’ running a new PB of 30.7 sec, an improvement of 0.16 of a second. Max Wright took 3rd place in the ‘B’ and he clocked a time of 31.1 sec.
Middle Distance
The boys 800 metres saw Noah Sibary winning the ‘A’, running the two lap race in a time of 2:28.8 sec. Finlay Southcoat took 2nd place in the ‘B’ where he ran a new PB of 2:34.3 sec, an improvement of 3.9 seconds. In the girls 800 metres ‘A’ Emma Hoggard took 2nd place, running a massive new PB of 2:34.3 sec, an improvement of 10.78 seconds. Lydia Moore also took a 2nd place finish in the ‘B’ where she also ran a new PB of 2:50.9 sec, an improvement of 1.5 seconds. The boys 1500 metres brought Max Wright and Will Fairburn back into action. Max took 3rd place in the ‘A’ running a new PB of 5:15.1 sec, an improvement of 3.37 seconds, whilst Will took 3rd place in the ‘B’ with his run of 5:49.2 sec. In the girls 1200 metres Anya Beetham took 5th place in the ‘A’ with her run of 4:40.2 sec. The ‘B’ saw Beth Moodie who was running her first ever 1200 race, take 4th place and establish a PB 4:57.7 sec.
Hurdles
Toby Greensmith made his hurdling debut in the boys 75 metres ‘A’ race, where he was the race winner and established a PB of 14.5 sec. Anya Beetham also made her hurdling debut in the girls 70 metres ‘A’ race. She took 5th place in the race and established PB of 16.6 sec.
Jumps
Toby Greensmith and Max Wright returned to action in the boys high jump. Toby was the winner of the ‘A’ going clear at a new PB height of 1.40 metres, an improvement of 5cm. Max’s clearance at 1.20 metres saw him take victory in the ‘B’. The girls high jump competition saw Tonisha Pickering take 3rd place in the ‘A’, clearing a height of 1.15 metres. In the ‘B’ Izzy Watts took 3rd place with her clearance at 1.10 metres. Noah Sibary was the winner of the boys long jump ‘A’, leaping to a new PB of 4.28 metres, an improvement of 15 cm. Nathan Hope took 2nd place in the ‘B’ with his jump of 3.92 metres. The girls long jump brought a 4th place finish for Tonisha Pickering who put in a jump of 3.86 metres. Lydia Moore also took 4th place in the ‘B’ with her leap of3.63 metres
Throws
Finlay Southcoat’s throw of 7.22 metres in the Shot ‘A’ saw him take a 2nd place finish. Ben Russell was the winner of the ‘B’. throwing a new PB of 6.34 metres, an improvement of 94 centimetres. The girls shot competition featured training partners Izzy Watts and Lydia Moore. The bragging rights this time went to Lydia who was the winner of the ‘A’, throwing a new PB of 8.06 metres, an improvement of 72 cm. Izzy was the winner of the ‘B’ with her throw of 7.48 metres. The boys javelin brought Toby Greensmith into the throwing area where he took 2nd place in the ‘A’, throwing a new PB of 26.36 metres, an improvement of 2.2 metres. Finlay Southcoat was also back in action in the javelin ‘B’, he was the winner of the competition with his throw of 18.12 metres. The girls javelin saw Izzy Watts taking 2nd Place in the ‘A’, throwing a new PB of 20.43 metres, an improvement of 81 centimetres. In the ‘B’ Beth Moodie also took a 2nd place finish and she too threw a new PB of 16.12 metres, an improvement of 40 cm.
Under 15’s
Sprints
In the under 15 girls 100 metres ‘A’ Rowan Swinburn ran a season’s best time of 14.9 sec for 5th place. The ‘B’ race saw Rebecca Westhead take 2nd place running a time of 14.4 sec. Jack Singleton ran in the boys 100 metres ‘A’ where he took 3rd place and posted a time of 13.1 sec. Charlie Parker’s run of 13.9 sec in the ‘B’ saw him take 5th place in the race. The girls 200 metres ‘A’ was covered by Pippa Gouldson who was the race winner, she ran a new PB of 28.1 sec, an improvement of 0.32 sec. Rowan Swinburn took second place in the ‘B’ running another season’s best time of 30.5 sec. The boys 200 metres saw Adam Fox running the ‘A’ where he took 5th place clocking a time of 25.7 sec. Jack Singleton took 3rd place in the ‘B’ running a new PB of 26.1 sec, an improvement of 6 hundredths of a second. Pippa Gouldson running in her first 300 metres race, took 2nd place in the ‘A’ establishing a PB of 46.1 sec. Ella Shaw-Hall was the 4th place finisher in the ‘B’ running a time of 50.1 sec. In the boys 300 metres Charlie Parker took 4th place in the ‘A’ posting a time of 44.4 sec. Harvey Southcoat was the winner of the ‘B’ running a new PB of 42.1 sec, an improvement of 1.81 sec.
Middle Distance
Emilia Russell was the 2nd place finisher in the girls 800 metres ‘A’, running a huge new PB of 2:25.0, an improvement of 7.8 seconds. Ella Shaw-Hall was the winner of the ‘B’ and her recorded time was 2:36.9 sec. The boys 800 metres saw Adam Fox take 2nd place in the ‘A’ race where he ran a new PB of 2:09.9 sec, slashing 3.9 sec off his previous mark. In the ‘B’ Harvey Southcoat was the race winner running a new PB of 2:23.8 sec, an improvement of 0.7 sec. In the girls 1500 metres Hermione Pickering took 2nd place in the ‘A’ running a massive new PB of 5:15.2 sec, an improvement of 16.28 sec. Aimee Campbell was the winner of the ‘B’ running a time of 5:53.4 sec. Thomas Smales took 2nd place in the boys 1500 metres ‘A’, where he ran a new PB of 4:38.6 sec, an improvement of 3.39 sec. The girls 75 metre hurdles saw Lauren McClean win the ‘A’ running a new PB of 12.4 sec, clipping a tenth of a second of her old best. In the ‘B’ Rebecca Westhead was the 2nd place finisher, running a new PB of 14.2 sec, an improvement of six tenths of a second. Jack Singleton took 2nd place in the boys 80 metre hurdles ‘A’, where he posted a time of 13.3 sec.
Jumps
The girls high jump competition saw Lauren McClean take 2nd place in the ‘A’ with a clearance at her personal best height of 1.55 metres. Emilia Russell was the winner of the ‘B’ with her clearance at 1.45 metres. In the boys event Gabriel Li La-Vigars took 3rd place in the ‘A’ going clear at a new PB height of 1.35 metres, an improvement of 5cm. The girls long jump saw Lauren McClean and Emilia Russell in action together once more. Lauren took 2nd place in the ‘A’ with her jump of 4.47 metres and Emilia was 2nd in the ‘B’ with her effort of 4.28 metres. Connor Pickering took 2nd place in the boys long jump, leaping to a new PB of 5.09 metres, an improvement of 23 cm. Fabian Vidal was the winner of the ‘B’ with his jump of 4.69 metres.
Throws
Holly Adams took 2nd place in the girls shot putt ‘A’ where she threw a distance of 9.15 metres. Lucy Bailey-Dalton was the winner of the ‘B’ with her throw of 8.79 metres. The boys shot saw Connor Pickering winning the ‘A’ throwing a distance of 10.78 metres, with Fabian Vidal throwing 7.22 metres to take 3rd place in the ‘B’. Holly Adams was the winner of the girls discus ‘A’ with her throw of 29.38 metres, with Esther Savage taking 2nd place in the ‘B’ throwing a new PB of 14.10 metres, an improvement of 40cm. Fabian saw further action in the discus where he was the 2nd place finisher in the ‘A’ throwing 18.33 metres. Alex Chivers was the winner of the ‘B’ throwing a new PB of 17.79 metres, an improvement of 31cm. In the girls hammer Amy Rothery took 3rd place in the ‘A’ throwing a new PB of 9.64 metres, an improvement of 99cm. The boys hammer saw Alex Chivers, in his first competitive outing in the event, take 2nd place in the ‘A’ and establish a PB of 16.06.metres. Gabriel Li La-Vigars was the 4th place finisher in the ‘B’ with his throw of 9.15 metres. In the girls javelin Holly Adams was the winner of the ‘A’ with her throw of 28.52 metres. Esther Savage was the winner of the ‘B’ where she threw 21.53 metres. Connor Pickering was the winner of the boys javelin ‘A’ launching out a throw of 32.67 metres. Alex Chivers was the winner of the ‘B’ with his throw of 23.27 metres.

Under 13 Girls

The Kingston team of Tilly Cairns, Freya Vidal, Libby Hakney and Lydia Moore were the winners of the race running a time of 56.1 sec.
Under 13 Boys
4 x 100 Metres
The Kingston team of Noah Sibary, Toby Greensmith, Max Wright and Finlay Southcoat were the 2nd place finishers and they ran a time of 58.2 sec.
Under 15 Girls
4 x 300 Metres
The Kingston quartet of Esther Savage, Ella Shaw-Hall, Emilia Russell and Hermione Pickering took 3rd place and they ran a time of 3:17.9 sec.
Under 15 Boys
4 x 100 Metres
The Kingston team of Jack Singleton, Connor Pickering, Gabriel Li La-Vigars and Adam Fox were the 3rd place finishers and the team ran a time of 53.5 sec.
Under 15 Boys
4 x 300 Metres
The Kingston team of Charlie Parker, Thomas Smales, Harvey Southcoat and Adam Fox took 2nd place running a time of 2:58.7 sec.
