North of England Track & Field League – Division 2EC

Moorways Stadium, Derby – Sunday 16th June 2019

The Kingston senior team’s second fixture, of the 2019 track & field season, was staged at the Moorways Stadium, in Derby, on Sunday the 16th of June. Our opposing team’s, were once again, Sheffield & Dearne, Derby, Doncaster, Hallamshire, and Rotherham.

The winners of the match were Derby, who collected 6 league points, and 406 match points. Rotherham took 2nd place, with 5 league and 364 match points. 3rd with 4 league and 356.5 match points, were Sheffield & Dearne. Kingston took 4th place, with 3 and 340.5 points, with Hallamshire 5th, on 2 and 315.5. 6th place went toDoncaster, with 1 league and 233.5 match points.

The Kingston squad, was a mix of senior, under20’s under17’s, and Masters athletes.

Performance Details for all of the Kingston Athletes are as follows

Men’s Sprints

Joe Cooper, was the ‘A’ runner in the 100 metres race, where he took a 2nd place finish, running a time of 11.26 sec. Adam Coles was the winner of the ‘B’, running his season’s best time of 11.50 sec. The men’s 200 metres, saw Joe Cooper take 2nd place in the ‘A’, running a time of 22.74 sec. In the 400 metres, Adam Fox took 5th place in the ‘A’, running the one lap race, in a time of 54.37 sec. Oliver Adnitt, took a 4th place finish in the 400 ‘B’, clocking a time 56.86 sec.

Women’s Sprints

Megan Hoult took a 4th place finish, in the 100 metres ‘A’, clocking a time of 12.59 sec. Ellie Townsend, took 5th place in the ‘B’, with her run of 14.2 sec. In the women’s 200 metres, Megan Hoult took 2nd place in the ‘A’, running a time of 25.88 sec. Emily Dye, was the 4th place finisher, in the ‘B’, with her run of 27.4 sec. Jess Fields, took 5th place in the women’s 400 ‘A’, running her season’s best time of 66.73 sec.  

Men’s & Women’s Middle Distance

Adam Fox, was in further action in the 800 metres ‘A’ race, taking a 6th place finish, running a time of 2:08.69 sec. Callum Featherstone, was the 4th place finisher in the ‘B’, with his run of 2:13.14 sec. The 1500 metres, saw Harry Hudson take 4th place in the ‘A’, running a new PB of 4:08.83 sec, taking 1.16 sec off his old time. Tom Smales, took a 2nd place finish in the 1500 ‘B’, he too ran a new PB of 4:23.90 sec, slashing 3.20 sec off his old mark. In the women’s middle distance, Rosie Shepherd was the sole, Kingston competitor. She was in action, in the 800 metres ‘A’, where she took 6th place, running a new PB of 2:43.62 sec taking, 3.43 sec off her old mark.

Men’s Distance

Road runner, Thomas Aitchison, made his track debut in the 5000 metres race. He took a 6th place finish, covering the 12.5 laps, in a time of 22:13.80 sec, to establish a PB. The 3000 metres steeplechase, saw Simon Downs, take 3rd place in the ‘A’, running his season’s best time of 13:07.89 sec. Thomas Aitchison, ran in the ‘B’, where he took 2nd place, and established another PB, of 14:14.42 sec. 

Women’s Hurdles

Sonia Santos, took a 4th place finish, in the 100 metre hurdles ‘A’, running a time of 16.02 sec. The 400 metre hurdles, saw Abbie Haigh, make her debut appearance in the event. She took 2nd place in the ‘A’, running the one lap race, in a time of 77.6 sec, to establish a PB.

Men’s Hurdles

Simon Downs, ran in both of the men’s hurdle races. In the 110 metre hurdles ’A’, he took 4th place, running a new PB of 20.39 sec, taking 0.21 sec, off his old time. In the 400 metre hurdles ‘A’ race, he took another 4th place finish, clocking a time of 63.85 sec.

Women’s & Men’s High Jump

Rosie Shepherd, took 2nd place in the ‘A’, going clear at a new PB height of 1.50 metres, an increase of 5 cm. Abbie Haigh, took 3rd place in the ‘B’, clearing a height of 1.30 metres. Oliver Adnitt, took a 2nd place finish in the ‘men’s A’, going clear at a height of 1.65 metres. In the ‘B’, Simon Downs took 4th place, with his clearance at 1.50 metres.

Women’s & Men’s Pole Vault

The newly crowned Northern champion, Clare Blunt, was the winner of the women’s pole vault ‘A’, clearing a height of 3.40 metres. Simon Downs, took 3rd place in the men’s ‘A’, with his clearance at 2.50 metres.

Men’s & Women’s Long Jump

Adam Coles, was the winner of the men’s ‘A’, with his leap of 6.35 metres. Simon Downs took 4th place in the ‘B’, with his jump of 5.04 metres. In the women’s ‘A’, Emily Dye took a 4th place finish, with her jump of 4.80 metres. Ellie Townsend, took 5th place in the ‘B’, with a leap of 4.27 metres.

Women’s & Men’s Triple Jump

Abbie Haigh, took 4th place in the women’s ‘A’, with her jump of 9.64 metres. In the ‘B’, Rosie Shepherd, took 2nd place with a jump of 8.78 metres. James Wardle, took 3rd place in the ‘A’, with a jump of 12.51 metres, whilst Adam Coles, was the winner of the ‘B’, with 12.11 metres.

Men’s & Women’s Shot

Shaun Kerry, took 2nd place, in the men’s shot ‘A’, with his throw of 12.18 metres. Master’s athlete John Twiddle, took 2nd place in the ‘B’, throwing exactly the same distance, of 12.18 metres. In the women’s event, Sian Kerry took 5th place in the ‘A’, with her throw of 7.47 metres. Sarah Robinson, took 3rd place in the ‘B’, with a throw of 7.27 metres.

Women’s & Men’s Discus

Alice Barnsdale, back home from America, took 4th place in the ‘A’, with her throw of 29.01 metres. Jess Townsend, took 3rd place in the ‘B’, with her throw of 25.20 metres. The men’s competition, saw Shaun Kerry take 3rd place in the ‘A’, throwing a new PB of 33.04 metres, an increase of 2.73 metres. John Twiddle, was the winner of the ‘B’, with his throw of 30.00 metres.

Men’s & Women’s Hammer

Reigning Northern Champion, under20 Shaun Kerry, took 2nd place in the ‘A’, with his throw of 53.49 metres, losing out by just one centimetre, to senior athlete Jason Robinson Of Sheffield & Dearne. John Twiddle was the winner of the ‘B’, with his throw of 39.75 metres. Alice Barnsdale, the number 2 ranked, under 23 in the UK, was the winner of the hammer ‘A’, with her throw of 57.02 metres. Sarah Robinson, was the winner of the ‘B’, with a throw of 41.44 metres.

Women’s & Men’s Javelin

Sian Kerry, took 5th place in the women’s javelin ‘A’, with a throw of 27.23 metres. In the ‘B’ Sarah Robinson, took a 4th place finish, throwing a new PB of 21.72 metres, an increase of 93 cm. Simon Downs, took 2nd place in the men’s ‘A’, with a throw of 37.89 metres, whilst Shaun Kerry, was the winner of the ‘B’, with his throw of 35.99 metres.

RELAYS

Men’s 4 x 100 Metres

The Kingston team of, Joe Cooper, Brody Hinson, Adam Coles and James Wardle, took 2nd place in the race, running a season’s best time of 45.49 sec.

Men’s 4 x 400 metres

The men’s team were, Adam Coles, Oliver Adnitt, Callum Featherstone, and Adam Fox, who took 4th place in the race, running a season’s best time of 3:50.09 sec.

Women’s 4 x 100 metres

The Kingston foursome of, Megan Hoult, Sonia Santos, Alanah Thoresby, and Emily Dye, took 3rd place in the race, running a season’s best time, of 51.9 sec. 

Women’s 4 x 400 Metres

The women’s team of, Rosie Shepherd, Abbie Haigh, Megan Hoult and Ellie Townsend, took 4th place, in the race, running a time of 4:40.28 sec.
