UK YDL Upper Match 3 Scunthorpe

UK Youth Development League – North East 2

Scunthorpe – Sunday 30th June 2019

The Kingston Youth team’s third, and final fixture, of the 2019 track & field season, was staged at Scunthorpe, on Sunday the 30th of June. It was an eight team competition, and our opposing teams, were once again Chesterfield & District, Grimsby and Louth, Spenborough & District, Bingley Harriers & AC, Hallamshire Harriers, Lincoln Wellington AC, and Scunthorpe & District.

The winners of the match were, Kingston upon Hull who collected 8 league points, and 788 match points. Chesterfield took 2nd place, with 7 league and 545 match points, 3rd with 6 league and 436.5 match points, were Hallamshire. Scunthorpe took 4th place, with 5 and 357.5 points, Bingley were 5th, with 4 and 335 points. In 6th place, were Spenborough with 3 and 263 points, Grimsby & Louth were 7th, with 2 and 112.5. 8th place went to, Lincoln Wellington with one league point and 106 match points.

Under 20’s

Sprints

The men’s 100 metres, were covered by Nathan Cuthbert, and David Morgan-Harrison. Nathan took a 4th place finish, in the ‘A’ race, running his season’s best time, of 11.4 sec. David Morgan-Harrison, was the winner of the ‘B’ race, running a time of 11.3 sec. The women’s 100 ‘A’ race, saw Jodie Martin take a 2nd place finish, running a new PB of 13.0 sec, taking 0.55 off her old time. Amelia Turnbull, was the winner of the ‘B’, running a time of 13.7 sec. In the men’s 200 metres ‘A’, David Morgan-Harrison, took 3rd place, with his run of 23.2 sec. Nathan Cuthbert, took 2nd place in the ‘B’, running a new PB of 23.4 sec, his fastest hand timed run. The women’s 200 metre sprints, saw Jess Fields, take 4th place, in the ‘A’, running her season’s best time of 28.7 sec. Grace Moore made her UK YDL debut In the ‘B’, where she was the race winner, and established a PB, of 29.6 sec. The men’s 400 metre sprints, saw Adam Fox win the ‘A’ race, running a time of 54.1 sec. Oliver Adnitt was the winner of the 400 ‘B’, running a time of 57.1 sec. Jess Fields took 3rd place, in the women’s 400 ‘A’, running her season’s best time of 66.3 sec. Rosie Shepherd, was the winner of the 400 ‘B’, with her fastest hand timed run of 68.5 sec. 

Middle Distance

The men’s 800 metres, featured two under 17 runners. Callum Featherstone, was the winner of the ‘A’, running a time of 2:11.8 sec, training partner Ashton Davis, made it a double victory, winning the ‘B’, with his run of 2:25.4 sec.

Hurdles

Over the last few weeks Abbie Haigh, has been showing good form, over the 400 metre hurdles. She kept it going, at this league match, taking victory, in the women’s race, running a time of 85.5 sec.

Jumps

Heptathlete Emilia Russell, was in action in the women’s high jump ‘A’, where she was the competition winner, going clear at a height of 1.50 metres. Ashton Davis, made his debut appearance, in the long jump event. He took 2nd place, in the ‘A’, establishing a PB with a leap of 4.68 metres. In the women’s long jump, Eve Anderson took 3rd place in the ‘A’, where she jumped a new PB, of 4.29 metres, adding 1 cm to her old best. Philip May, was the winner of the men’s triple jump, with his effort of 12.46 metres. In the women’s triple jump, Abbie Haigh was the winner of the event, with her jump of 9.98 metres.

Shot Putt/Discus throw

In the men’s shot event, Shaun Kerry was the winner of the ‘A’, with his throw of 13.95 metres. Nathan Cuthbert, was the winner of the ‘B’, throwing a distance of 10.44 metres. In the women’s shot ‘A’, Sarah Robinson took 4th place, throwing a new PB of 7.82 metres, 4cm beyond her old mark.  In the men’s discus, Shaun Kerry was the winner of the ‘A’, throwing a new PB of 36.82 metres, an improvement of 1.41 metres. Philip May, competing in his first discus event, was the winner of the ‘B’, where he established a PB of 19.77 metres. The women’s discus competition, saw Sarah Robinson, take 5th place in the ‘A’, with her throw of 23.14 metres.

Hammer Throw/Javelin Throw

Northern Champion, Shaun Kerry, was the winner of the hammer event, with his throw of 63.82 metres. Philip May was the winner of the ‘B’, with a throw of 31.44 metres. Sarah Robinson was the winner of the women’s competition, throwing a distance of 43.79 metres. The men’s javelin ‘A’, saw Nathan Cuthbert, take the victory, launching out a new PB of 42.73 metres, a huge 6.13 metres, beyond his previous best. Shaun Kerry was the winner of the ‘B’, throwing his season’s best distance, of 40.19 metres. In the women’s javelin event Becky Chivers, was the winner of the ‘A’, with her throw of 31.43 metres. 

Under 17’s

Sprints

Brody Hinson, was the winner of the men’s 100 metres ‘A’, running a new PB of 11.3 sec, his fastest hand timed run. In the ‘B’, Harvey Southcoat took 3rd place in therace, with his run of 12.6 sec. The women’s race, saw Daisy Logan take 2nd place in the ‘A’, running a time of 13.0 sec. Alanah Thoresby, took a 2nd place finish in the ‘B’, with her run of 13.3 sec. The men’s 200 metres ‘A’, saw Brody Hinson take a 2nd place finish, running a time of 23.5 sec. In the men’s ‘B’, Harvey Southcoat, took 3rd place, with his run of 26.7 sec. The women’s 200 metres, saw Jodie Martin take 2nd place, in the ‘A’, running her season’s best time of 26.9 sec. Emily Dye, also took a 2nd place finish in the ‘B’, running a time of 28.2 sec. in the women’s 300 metres ‘A’,  Amelia Proctor, took a 2nd place finish, running a new PB of 42.7sec, her fastest hand timed run. In the men’s 400 metres, Callum Featherstone, took 3rd place in the ‘A’, running his season’s best time, of 55.6 sec. Harvey Southcoat, was the winner of the ‘B’, running a time of 59.5 sec.

Middle Distance

In the men’s 800 metres race, Adam Fox was the winner of the ‘A’, running a time of 2:11.5 sec. Tom Smales, was the winner of the ‘B’, running a new PB of 2:12.1 sec, taking 0.99 sec off his old mark. The women’s 800 metres race, saw Ella Shaw-Hall, take a 3rd place finish, in the ‘A’, running a time of 2:33.9 sec. In the men’s 1500 metres ‘A’, Tom Smales, took 2nd place in the race, running a time of 4:25.8 sec. Hermione Pickering, was the winner of the women’s, 1500 metres ‘A’, where she ran a huge new PB of 5:06.7 sec, slashing 12.60 sec off her previous best.

Hurdles

Lauren McClean, was the winner of the women’s 80 metre hurdles ‘A’, running a time of 12.5 sec. Emilia Russell, was the winner of the 80 ‘B’ race, which she ran in a time of 13.9 sec. In the women’s 300 metres hurdles, Rosie Shepherd was the winner of the ‘A’, running a time of 51.8 sec. Eve Anderson was the winner of the ‘B’, which she ran in a time of 52.2 sec.

High Jump

Oliver Adnitt took 3rd place, in the men’s high jump ‘A’, where he cleared a height of 1.55 metres. In the women’s high jump, Alanah Thoresby was the winner of the ‘A’, with her clearance at 1.55 metres. Lauren McClean, was the winner of the ‘B’, where she too cleared 1.55, her season’s best jump.

Long Jump

In the men’s long jump, Oliver Adnitt took 4th place in the ‘A’, with his leap of 5.10 metres. Connor Pickering, took 2nd place in the ‘B’, with his jump of 4.84 metres. In the women’s event, Emily Dye took 2nd place in the ‘A’, with her jump of 4.98 metres, whilst in the women’s ‘B’, Ellie Townsend took 2nd place, with her jump of 4.35 metres.

Triple Jump

Rosie Shepherd, was the winner of, the women’s triple jump ‘A’, jumping a new PB of 10.25 metres, 30 cm beyond her old best.

Shot Putt/Discus Throw

Holly Adams, was the winner, of the women’s Shot ‘A’, with her throw of 11.25 metres. Lauren McClean, was the winner of the women’s ‘B’, with her throw of 7.75 metres. In the men’s event, Connor Pickering’s throw of 11.56 metres, saw him take victory, in the ‘A’. In the women’s discus, Holly Adams was the winner of the ‘A’, with her throw of 26.64 metres. Jess Townsend, was the winner of the women’s ‘B’, with a throw of 21.13 metres. The men’s discus saw, Antony Mould, winning the ‘A’, with his throw of 35.01 metres 

Hammer Throw/Javelin Throw

Antony Mould, was the winner of, the men’s hammer ‘A’, with his throw of 45.51 metres. In the women’s hammer, Eden Lockett was the winner of the ‘A’, with her throw of 44.03 metres. Lucy Cresswell was the winner of the ’B’, with a throw of 25.96 metres. The men’s javelin event, saw Connor Pickering, take victory in the ‘A’, with his throw of 29.46 metres. In the women’s javelin, Holly Adams took 2nd place, with her season’s best throw of 29.31 metres. Emilia Russell, was the winner of the women’s javelin ‘B’, with her throw of 25.99 metres.

RELAYS

Under 20 Men

4 x 100 Metres

The Kingston team of Philip May, Nathan Cuthbert, David Morgan-Harrison and Harvey Southcoat, were the winners of the race, running a time of 46.6 sec.

Under 20 Women

4 x 100 metres

The Kingston foursome of Grace Moore, Amelia Turnbull, Lauren McClean and Emily Dye, took 2nd place in the competition, running a time of 55.5 sec.

Under 20 Women

4 x 400 metres

The Kingston team of Jess Fields, Hermione Pickering, Abbie Haigh and Rosie Shepherd, took 2nd place, running a time of 4:42.9 sec.

Under 17 Men

4 x 100 metres

The under 17 men’s team of, Tom Smales, Connor Pickering, Adam Fox and Callum Featherstone, took 3rd place in the race, running a season’s best time of 51.6 sec.

Under 17 Men

4 x 400 metres

The under 17 men’s team of, Oliver Adnitt, Callum Featherstone, Adam Fox and Tom Smales, were the winners of the race, running a time of 4:07.3 sec.

Under 17 women

4 x 100 metres

The Kingston team of, Amelia Proctor, Alanah Thoresby, Daisy Logan, and Jodie Martin, were the race winners, running a season’s best time of 50.9 sec.

Under 17 Women
