Youth Development League – North East 2 – Round 3

 

The meeting took place at the Costello Stadium, Hull on Sunday 29th June 2014 and our opposition comprised of teams representing :-

Bingley Harriers – Grimsby Harriers – Spenborough and District Athletics Club – Hallamshire Harriers.

The KuHac athletes put in an absolutely magnificent performance and they excelled not only in their individual events and the fabulous relay runs but the way this team has bonded this season is a sight to behold. They give everything to the cause and they back each other to the hilt.

We were the winners of this meeting and collected 5 match points. This keeps us 2nd in the table, two points behind Hallamshire, with the final meeting of the season to take place at Cleckheaton on Sunday 17th of July.

The outstanding performance on the day has to be our Under 17 Women’s 4 x 100 metre relay team. Our quartet of:- Megan Grant – Emily Lyons – Luci Preston and Charlotte Paterson set the fastest time in the U.K. this year when they won the relay in a time of 49.4s.

The full details of the performances of all our athletes on the day are as follows.

100 Metres – U20 Men

Joseph Cooper finished in 4th place in the ‘A’ race and he recorded a time of 11.6s

Eliot Gay was the winner of the ‘B’ race and he also recorded a time of 11.6s.

200 Metres – U20 Men

Daniel Gray took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race in a time of 22.9s.

Dominic Singh was the winner of the ‘B’ race and his time was also 22.9s.

400 Metres – U20 Men

Jonathon Beharrell won the ‘A’ race and he set a new PB of 51.0s.

Daniel Chambers was the winner of the ‘B’ race and his time was 59.1s

800 Metres – U20 Men

Oliver Newton took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and his time was 2:03.5s.

Joshua Taylor-Brown was the winner of the ‘B’ race and he set a time of 2:09.3s.

1500 Metres – U20 Men

Oliver Newton took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and his recorded time was 4:28.3s

Baldvin Magnusson was in 2nd place in the ‘B’ race and his time was 4:50.3s.

 

3000 Metres – U20 Men

Harry Powell took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and he returned a time of 9:27.1s.

Jack Michaels was the winner of the ‘B’ race and his time was one of 10:39.7s.

400 Metre Hurdles – U 20 Men

Jack Michaels was the winner of the ‘A’ race and his time was 68.3s.

2000 Steeplechase – U20 Men

Joshua Taylor-Brown was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he also set a new PB of 6:53.3s.

Discus – U20 Men

Matthew Elvidge took 3rd place in the ‘A’ competition and set a new PB of 18.86m.

Joseph Cooper was the winner of the ‘B’ competition and he also set a new PB of 17.33m.

Hammer – U20 Men

Jack Michaels took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition and set a new PB of 15.26m.

Joshua Taylor-Brown was the winner of the ‘B’ competition and he too set a new PB of 9.83m.

Javelin – U20 Men

Oliver Newton took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event and set a new PB of 21.94m.

Shot Putt – U20 Men

Joseph Cooper was in 2nd place in the ‘A’ event and he set a new PB of 8.57m.

James Wardle took 2nd place in the ‘B’ event and he also set a new PB of 5.33m.

Long Jump – U20 Men

Matthew Elvidge was the winner of the ‘A’ competition and he jumped a seasons best of 6.60m.

James Wardle won the ‘B’ competition and he set a new PB of 5.94m.

Triple Jump – U20 Men

Matthew Elvidge took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition and his best effort was one of 11.72m.

100 Metres – U17 Men

Matthew Backhouse was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he recorded a time of 11.3s

Andrew Morgan-Harrison was the winner if the ‘B’ race and his time was 11.7s.

 

200 Metres – U17 Men

Matthew Backhouse was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he set a new PB of 23.2s.

Eliot Gay was the winner of the ‘B’ race and his time was 23.9s.

400 Metres – U17 Men

Marcel Dalee was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he recorded a time of 52.8s.

Rob Larkin was the winner of the ‘B’ race and he set a new PB of 55.7s.

800 Metres – U17 Men

Connor Bingham took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and he set a new PB of 2:06.2s.

1500 metres – U17 Men

Jack Brothwell was in 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and he recorded a time of 4:40.6s.

Tom Whitley took 2nd place in the ‘B’ race and his time was 4.59.0s

3000 Metres – U17 Men

Baldvin Magnusson was the winner of the ‘A’ race and he ran a time of 10:07.9s.

Discus – U17 Men

Marcel Dalee was in 3rd place in the ‘A’ event and he set a new PB of 13.90m.

Javelin – U17 Men

Dominic Singh took 3rd place in the ‘A’ event and he also set a new PB of 20.31m.

High Jump – U17 Men

Dominic Singh finished in 2nd place and he set a new PB of 1.55m.

Long Jump – U17 Men

Macalley Morgan took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event and his best jump was one of 4.88m.

Triple Jump – U17 Men

Macalley Morgan finished 2nd in the ‘A’ event and his best effort was a distance of 10.03m.

Pole Vault – U17 Men

Macalley Morgan was in 2nd place in the ‘A’ event and he cleared a height of 2.10m.

Charlotte Paterson was the winner of the ‘A’ race and she also set a new PB of 12.0s

Amber Qasim was the winner of the ‘B’ race and she recorded a time of 14.6s.

200 Metres – U20 Women

Charlotte Paterson was the winner of the ‘A’ race and she set another new PB of 24.7s.

800 Metres – U20 Women

Jessica Cappleman finished in 4th position in the ‘A’ race and she ran a time of 2:40.0s.

1500 Metres – U20 Women

Jessica Cappleman took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and her time was 5:35.3s.

Discus – U20 Women

Jessica Cappleman finished in 4th place in the ‘A’ competition and she also set a new PB of 13.14m.

Hammer – U20 Women

Jamila Hurley was the winner of the ‘A’ competition and her best throw was one of 23.51m.

Javelin – U20 Women

Maggie Okul took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition with a seasons best throw of 26.31m.

Sophie O’Hara was the winner of the ‘B’ competition with a throw of 21.04m.

Shot Putt – U20 Women

Maggie Okul was the winner of the ‘A’ competition with a putt of 8.15m.

Jessica Cappleman took 2nd place in the ‘B’ competition with a putt of 4.54m.

Long Jump – U20 Women

Amber Qasim finished in 5th position in the ‘A’ event with a jump of 3.48m.

Triple Jump – U20 Women

Luci Preston was in 4th position in the ‘A’ event and she set a new PB of 9.44m.

100 Metres – U17 Women

Luci Preston was the winner of the ‘A’ race and she a new PB of 12.7s.

Megan Grant was the winner of the ‘B’ race and her time was 13.2s.

 

200 Metres – U17 Women

Luci Preston took 2nd place in the ‘A’ race and set another new PB of 25.9s.

Emily Lyons was the winner of the ‘B’ race and she too set a new PB ob 26.0s

300 Metres – U17 Women

Emma Jo Huckstep took 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and also set a new PB of 47.6s.

Amy Sampson was the winner of the ‘B’ race and she too set a new PB of 46.7s.

800 Metres – U17 Women

Jodie Yates finished in 3rd place in the ‘A’ race and ran a time of 2:50.9s.

80 Metres Hurdles – U17 Women

Chloe Sole was the winner of the ‘A’ race and she ran a time of 12.8s.

Sian Kerry was the winner of the ‘B’ race and her time was 14.6s.

Discus – U17 Women

Sophie O’Hara took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event with a throw of 27.74m.

Hammer – U17 Women

Maggie Okul was the winner of the ‘A’ competition her best throw on the day was 52.25m.

Javelin – U17 Women

Sian Kerry took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition with a throw of 23.42m.

Sophie O’Hara was the winner of the ‘B’ competition with a throw of 21.04m.

Shot Putt – U17 Women

Sophie O’Hara was the winner of the ‘A’ competition with a putt of 11.14m.

Long Jump – U17 Women

Megan Grant took 2nd place in the ‘A’ event and also set a new PB of 4.47m.

High Jump – U17 Women

Jamila Hurley took 2nd place in the ‘A’ competition clearing a height of 1.20m.
