Two of Kingston’s outstanding youth athletes were selected to represent North East England, at the annual UK School Games, which were held for the second consecutive year at the well appointed and popular venue of Sport City, which is part of the Etihad complex in Manchester. It is an all seater stadium, with shelter from the elements.

15 year old Olivia Stevenson was making her first appearance at the UK Games. 2015 has been another successful season for Oli, which has seen her make a successful defence of her Northern hammer title, and win the silver medal at the English Schools Championships.

There was also a little matter of her making her international debut for England at the Schools International Athletics Board Championships at Grangemouth in Scotland, where she won the silver medal. She has not been outside of the top 3 in the UK rankings throughout 2015, and earlier in the season she broke the UK record and was ranked number one.

She won the bronze medal at Sport City, where she put in a throw of 56.89m.

Dominic Singh was also making his first appearance at the UK Games. He too has enjoyed another successful track and field season. Dom was the 200 metre gold medallist at the 2015 Northern Championships and the silver medallist in the 100 metre final. He was also a 200 metres finalist at the English Schools Championships, which were held at the Gateshead International Stadium in July of this year. He is ranked number 2 in Yorkshire at 200 metres and number 3 at 100 metres

Dom was a competitor in the 200 metres final at Sport City, where he took 6th place in a time of 11.46s.
