UK Youth Development League – Northern Premier 2

Costello Stadium, Hull – Saturday 23rd April 2016

The 2016 National League campaign got underway for our under11 and under13 year old athletes, on Saturday 23rd of April with a home fixture at the Costello Stadium.

Our opposing teams this year are Leeds City AC, West Cheshire AC, Wirral AC, Rotherham AC and Harrogate Harriers. The six teams will clash in four full days of competition over the next three months.

A lot of our juniors have moved up into a new age category for all of the 2016 competitions, and we had fourteen young athletes who were making their league debuts in this opening fixture.

* Accompanies the names of all the Kingston Athletes who were making their league debuts   for the club.

We saw a great and gutsy effort from the Kingston team, who for large periods of the match were up with the leaders. Leeds City and West Cheshire put out very strong teams and they had some outstanding athletes, and Wirral were very good too.

Kingston finished in 5th place on the day and we collected two league points. The young debutants will benefit from their first experience, and they will get stronger as the season progresses. The battle is now on to ensure we retain our place in this division which is the second highest level in Northern England.
