UK Youth Development League – Northern Premier 2
South Leeds Stadium – Saturday 21st May 2016
For their second league fixture of the 2016 track & field season, the Kingston under 13’s and under 15’s team travelled over to the South Leeds Stadium, the home of Leeds City AC and also the Hunslet Hawks rugby league team.
Our opposition on the day came from teams representing West Cheshire AC, Wirral AC, Harrogate Harriers, Rotherham Harriers and of course Leeds City AC.
The opening match had been held at the Costello Stadium in April, where a depleted Kingston team had finished in 5th place and an improvement was of paramount importance. More of our athletes had rallied to the banner this time and the team were cautiously optimistic on their way to Leeds.
The team put on a splendid performance and everyone played their part, from our Northern Champions and County Champions down to the youngsters, who were making their league debuts. Every one of them put in a fantastic effort, which saw us finish in 3rd place on the day and collect 4 league points, which took us up to 4th place in the league table.
The next match will take the team up to Darlington, on Sunday the 19th of June.
Details of the performances of all the Kingston athletes are as follows.
