Under 17 Men

The County champion Adam Coles was the team’s representative in the 100 metre hurdles ‘A’ race where he ran a time of 14.92s for 3rd place, missing out on 2nd spot by one hundredth of a second.

Middle distance runner Kyle Foster made his County debut at this meeting where he ran in the 800 metres ‘A’ race, he put together a good run to take 4th place in a time of 2:05.05s.

There was no discus competition at the Inter Counties so Josh Tranmer the 2016 English schools bronze medallist and County champion was competing in the shot putt, which is his secondary discipline, his best effort of the day, one of 13.30m saw him take 2nd place in the ‘A’ event.

A similar dilemma faced under 15 pole vaulter Ben Stutely, there was no under 15 pole vault competition so he represented the team in the under 17’s ‘A’ event against older stronger and more experienced athletes. 13 year old Ben put in a great effort, equalling his PB of 2.40m to take 6th place.

Adam Coles is a promising and hard working young athlete, he returned to the action this time out in the field where he was in competition in the long jump, an event where he won the bronze medal at this January’s Northern Indoor Championships. Adam jumped a new PB of 5.75m to take a 4th place finish for the County team.
