‘Kingston Young Athletes Open Meeting’

Costello Stadium, Hull – Saturday 17th September 2016

Kingston’s annual Open Meeting for young athletes aged up to 15 years was staged at the Costello Stadium on Saturday the 17th of September. All young athletes and anyone who was aspiring to get into athletics were welcome to come along to the stadium and compete. There was a very good turnout with competitors coming from all three Yorkshire Ridings, from Lincolnshire and as far afield as Northumberland, Durham and Derbyshire, together with a huge response from our own athletes.

The balmy conditions this area had enjoyed in the week days leading up to this event had disappeared before the weekend, it was much cooler but it was a decent enough day and the spectators were kept well entertained by the athletes efforts on the track and out on the field.

An added bonus for all of the track athletes was the provision of an electronic timing system which we had loaned for this event.

Medals were awarded to the first three athletes in every event.
