UK Youth Development League – Division North East 1
Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster – Saturday 21st July 2018
The Kingston junior teams final league match of the 2018 track and field season was staged at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster on Saturday 21st of July. The teams competing at the match were Kingston upon Hull AC, Doncaster AC, Chesterfield & District AC, Rotherham Harriers and Lincoln Wellington. The teams arrived knowing that the battle for the league title would be between Rotherham and Kingston upon Hull, the other three clubs could not pick up enough points to catch them. It was a close fought encounter between the two teams, which saw Rotherham Harriers win the title and Kingston take the runners up spot.
The final league table saw Rotherham in 1st with 19 league points, Kingston 2nd on 17 points, Chesterfield 3rd with 11, Doncaster 4th on 8 and Lincoln 5th with 5 points.
Details of the performances of all the Kingston athletes are as follows
Under 15’s
Sprints
The under15 boys 100 metres saw Jack Singleton take 4th place in the ‘A’ race running a time of 12.88 sec. Lewis Melling made his club and league debut in the ‘B’ race where he took 3rd place and established a PB of 12.42 sec. In the 200 metres Jack took 2nd place in the ‘A’ running a new PB of 25.84 sec, an improvement of 0.32 sec. Lewis also took a 2nd place finish in the ‘B’ and established another PB of 25.63 sec. The girls competition saw Hermione Pickering, who was running in her first 200 metres race, take 5th place in the ‘A’ and establish a PB of 32.20 sec. In the ‘B’ Amy Rothery also ran in her first 200 race taking 4th place and establishing a PB of 36.20 sec. In the boys 300 metres Adam Fox’s run of 41.29 sec saw him take 3rd place in the ‘A’. Charlie Parker was the 3rd place finisher in the ‘B’ running a new PB of 43.01 sec, an improvement of 0.27. Ella Shaw-Hall took 4th place in the girls 300 metres ‘A’ with her run of 48.71 sec.
Middle Distance
Adam Fox was the winner of the boys 800 metres ‘A’ running a time of 2:14.11 sec. In the 800 ‘B’ Harvey Southcoat took 2nd place posting a time of 2:24.35 sec. The girls 800 metres ‘A’ saw Ella Shaw-Hall take a 3rd place finish, clocking a time of 2:41.85 sec. The boys 1500 metres saw Tom Smales take 4th place in the ‘A’ running a new PB of 4:36.62 sec, an improvement of 1.98 sec. In the ‘B’ Oliver Adnitt ran in his first 1500 metre race, taking 4th place and establishing a PB of 4:54.21 sec. The girls 1500 saw Hermione Pickering take 3rd place in the ‘A’ running a time of 5:21.02 sec. Amy Rothery took 3rd place in the ‘B’ running a new PB of 6:00.78 sec, an improvement of 2.02 sec.
Hurdles
In the boys 80 metre hurdles ‘A’ Jack Singleton took 2nd place running a new PB of 12.64, an improvement of 2 tenths of a second. The girls 75 metre hurdles saw Lauren McClean take victory in the ‘A’ race with her run of 12.74 sec.
Jumps
Oliver Adnitt was the winner of the boys high jump ‘A’, going clear at a new PB height of 1.54 metres, an improvement of 9 cm. Gabriel Li La-Vigars took 2nd place in the ‘B’ with his clearance at 1.25 metres. Lauren McClean took 2nd place in the girls high jump ‘A’ going clear at a height of 1.50 metres. Emilia Russell was the winner of the ‘B’ going clear at a new PB height of 1.50 metres, an improvement of 2 cm. Fabian Vidal took 4th place in the boys long jump ‘A’ with a leap of 4.55 metres. In the ‘B’ Adam Fox took 2nd place, jumping a new PB of 4.54 metres, an improvement of 60 cm. The girls long jump saw Emilia Russell take 2nd place in the ‘A’ jumping a new PB of 4.61 metres, an improvement of 2 cm. Lauren McClean took 2nd place in the ‘B’ with her leap of 4.30 metres.
Throws
The boys ‘A’ saw Fabian Vidal take 3rd place with his throw of 8.62 metres. Whilst In the ‘B’ Harvey Southcoat took 2nd place with his putt of 6.55 metres. Lucy Bailey-Dalton took 2nd place in the girls ‘A’ event, throwing a new PB of 9.08 metres, an improvement of 17 cm. In the shot ‘B’ Esther Savage took 3rd place with her throw of 4.99 metres. Fabian Vidal took 3rd place in the boys discus ‘A’ with his throw of 15.40 metres. Lucy Bailey-Dalton took 2nd place in the girls discus ‘A’ where she threw 14.86 metres. The ‘B’ saw Esther Savage throw a new PB of 14.46 metres, an improvement of 36 cm, for 2nd place. The boys hammer saw Gabriel Li La-Vigars throw a new PB of 14.06 metres, an improvement of 2.31 metres for 3rd place. Tom Smales made his bow in the hammer circle taking 2nd place in the ‘B’ and he also established a PB of 12.33 metres. The girls hammer ‘A’, saw Lucy Bailey-Dalton making her debut in the event, she took 3rd place and established a PB of 16.96 metres. In the hammer ‘B’ Amy Rothery took 3rd place and threw a new PB of 15.40 metres, an improvement of 5.76 metres. In the boys javelin ‘A’ Gabriel Li La-Vigars took 2nd place launching a throw of 22.90 metres. Tom Smales made his javelin debut in the ‘B’, taking 3rd place and establishing a PB of 10.18 metres. The girls ‘A’ saw Emilia Russell take 2nd place with her throw of 22.96 metres. Esther Savage was the winner of the ‘B’ with a seasons best throw of 22.62 metres.
Under 13’s
Sprints
The boys 100 metres saw Noah Sibary take 4th place in the ‘A’ running a time of 14.56 sec. In the ‘B’ Ben Russell running in his first competitive 100 metres race took 5th place and established a PB of 15.72 sec. The girls 75 metre sprints saw Libby Hakney take 2nd place in the ‘A’ running a new PB of 10.34 sec, an improvement of 0.11. Freya Vidal was the winner of the ‘B’, clipping a 10th of a second off her previous best, setting a new PB of 11.16 sec. The boys 200 metres saw Will Fairburn take 5th place in the ‘A’, running a new PB of 30.18 sec, an improvement of 0.68. Max Wright took 2nd place in the ‘B’ and he also ran a new PB of 29.59 sec, an improvement of 1.28 sec. In the Girls 150 metres Libby Hakney was the 2nd place finisher in the ‘A’ running a time of 20.48 sec. Freya Vidal took 3rd place in the ‘B’ with her seasons best run of 22.99 sec.
Middle Distance
Noah Sibary returned to action in the 800 metres, taking 3rd place in the ‘A’ race running a time of 2:34.82 sec. Toby Greensmith also took a 3rd place finish in the 800 ‘B’ covering the two lap race in a time of 2:46.72 sec. In the girls 800 ‘A’ Meabh Brannigan took 2nd place running a new PB of 2:29.70 sec, an improvement of 2.55 sec. Emma Hoggard was the winner of the ‘B’ and she ran a time of 2:37.87 sec. Max Wright ran the boys 1500 ‘A’ where he took 3rd place posting a time of 5:18.43 sec. Finlay Southcoat took 2nd place in the ‘B’ race with his seasons best run of 5:22.64 sec.
Hurdles
The girls 70 metre hurdles race saw Beth Moodie take 3rd place in the ‘A’, running a time of 13.79 sec.
Jumps
There was further action for Max Wright in the boys high jump ‘A’ where he took 3rd place going clear at a height of 1.30 metres. In the girls high jump Izzy Watts took 3rd place in the ‘A’ with a clearance at a height of 1.25 metres. Lydia Moore took 5th place in the ‘B’ with her clearance at 1.05 metres. In the boys long jump Noah Sibary took 4th place in the ‘A’ with his leap of 3.90 metres. Ben Russell’s jump of 3.23 metres in the ‘B’ saw him take a 4th place finish. The girls long jump saw Beth Moodie take 4th place in the ‘A’ putting in a jump of 3.64 metres. Lydia Moore took 3rd place in the ‘B’ with her leap of 3.58 metres.
Throws
Finlay Southcoat took 2nd place in the boys shot putt ‘A’, registering a throw of 7.34 metres. Ben Russell was the winner of the ‘B’ with his throw of 5.95 metres. The girls competition brought further action for training partners Izzy Watts and Lydia Moore. Lydia was the winner of the ‘A’ with her throw of 7.99 metres and Izzy’s throw of 7.94 metres saw her also take the victory in the ‘B’. The boys javelin competition saw Toby Greensmith win the ‘A’ throwing a new PB of 29.70 metres, an improvement of 3.34 metres. Finlay Southcoat took 2nd place in the ‘B’ with his throw of 15.24 metres. In the girls javelin event Beth Moodie took 2nd place in the ‘A’ with a new PB of 22.31 metres, an improvement of 6.19 metres. Izzy Watts took 2nd place in the ‘B’ with her throw of 18.88 metres.

The Kingston foursome of Hermione Pickering, Lauren McClean, Lucy Bailey-Dalton and Emilia Russell took 2nd place in the race running a time of 57.16 sec.
Under 13 Girls
4 x 100 Metres
The Kingston quartet of Meabh Brannigan, Libby Hakney, Freya Vidal and Lydia Moore took 4th place and posted a time of 60.39 sec.
Under 15 Boys
4 x 100 Metres
The team of Jack Singleton, Lewis Melling, Adam Fox and Charlie Parker took 3rd place running a time of 51.21 sec.
Under 13 Boys
4 x 100 Metres
The Kingston team of Noah Sibary, Finlay Southcoat, Max Wright and Toby Greensmith took 3rd place running a time of 57.67 sec.
Under 15 Girls
4 x 300 Metres
The Kingston team of Amy Rotherey, Esther Savage, Ella Shaw-Hall and Hermione Pickering took 5th place and recorded a time of 3:30.57 sec

The team of Tom Smales, Harvey Southcoat, Oliver Adnitt and Adam Fox took 2nd place running a seasons best time of 2:58.01 sec.
