‘Tartan Games’
Gateshead International Stadium
Monday 26th August 2019
Eve Anderson was Kingston upon Hull AC’s only representative at the annual Tartan Games held at the Gateshead International Stadium. Opposition came mainly from the North East with the host club Gateshead Harriers boasting an impressive turn out right across the age groups but clubs as far away as Birmingham were also represented at what is now a well-established event on the calendar.
15 year old Eve has made huge improvements this season having set personal bests in 6 different events covering both track & field. Whilst not managing to further improve her best performances at Gateshead, Eve still made the long trip well worthwhile bringing back 2 medals from her 3 events. She took gold in the triple jump – her favourite event, with her best jump on the day being 10.06m. Such was the consistency of her series that all of her jumps were longer than the silver medallist’s best performance. Eve’s second medal came in the 80m hurdles where she finished 2nd in 13.94 sec behind English Schools semi-finalist Amy Lott (Morpeth Harriers) while she also competed in the 100m finishing 7th with a time of 14.20 sec.
