Kingston September Open Meeting

Costello Stadium – Saturday 7th September 2019

Kingston’s annual September Open Meeting, was staged at the Costello Stadium, on Saturday the 7th. The meeting was well attended, by athletes representing clubs, throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, as well as the Midlands. It was a miserable day, which brought with it rain, and a chilly wind.

Performances of all Kingston’s Under 11, 13, 15, and 17 athletes are as follows.

Under 11’s

80 metres Sprints Finals

Keijimi Ashaolu, was the winner of the boy’s race, running a time of 11.68 sec. 2nd  place went to, Sebastian McKenzie, who ran a new PB of 12.09 sec, taking 0.21 off his old mark. In 3rd place, was Nicholas Rusling, with his run of 13.03 sec. The winner of the girl’s race, was Charlotte McKenzie, who ran a new PB of 11.88 sec, taking two hundredths off her old time. In 2nd place, was Charlotte Wilkinson, running a time of 12.32 sec, with Megan Wright taking 3rd, running a new PB of 12.88 sec, shaving  eight hundredths, off her old time. Clemmie Wright, took a 5th place finish, she also ran a new PB of 13.58 sec, taking 0.35 sec off her old mark. Amelia Fraser, took an eighth place finish, running a time of 14.21 sec. 

150 metres Sprints Finals

Keijimi Ashaolu, completed the sprint double, winning the 150 metres race, running a time of 22.13 sec. Sebastian Mckenzie, took 2nd place in the race, clocking a time of 23.11 sec, with Nicholas Rusling, taking 3rd place, with his run of 26.04 sec. In the girl’s race, Charlotte McKenzie, also completed the sprint double, running a time of 23.15 sec. Ruby Farr took 2nd place, running a new PB of 23.17 sec, taking 0.09 off her old time. 3rd place was taken by Charlotte Wilkinson, who clocked a time of 23.84 sec, with India Unsworth, taking a 7th place finish, with her run of 27.26 sec. Amelia Fraser, took 8th place, with her run of 27.47 sec. Clemmie Wright ran a new PB of 27.46 sec, 0.53 sec off her old mark, in the heats, but missed out on the final.   

600 Metres Race – Girls and Boys

Keijimi Ashaolu, took 2nd place in the race, running a time of 2:05.64 sec. Ruby Farr, was the 2nd place finisher, running a new PB of 2:05.93 sec, slashing 3.25 sec, off her old time. 5th place went to Megan Wright, who clocked a time 2:07.59 sec, with India Unsworth, taking 9th place, running a time of 2:18.60 sec. Pheobe Moore, running in her first 600 metres race, took 15th place, and established a PB of 2:52.93 sec.

Long Jump – Girls & Boys

Charlotte McKenzie, was the winner of the girls competition, with her leap of 3.73 metres. Megan Wright, took 2nd place, jumping a new PB of 3.21 metres, 31 cm beyond her old mark. 3rd place went to Ruby Farr, who put in a leap of 3.17 metres. India Unsworth, took 4th place, jumping a new PB of 2.81 metres, an advance of 1cm. Clemmie Wright, took 6th place, jumping a new PB of 2.77 metres, 14cm beyond her old mark. Tilly Shaw-Hall, took 9th, with her leap of 2.65 metres. Amelia Fraser’s leap of 2.57 metres, gave her 10th place, and Pheobe Moore, was in 13th, jumping a new PB of 2.17 metres, 10cm beyond her old best. The boys long jump competition, saw Sebastian Mckenzie, claim the victory, with his leap of 3.61 metres, with Gilby Wright, taking 5th place, jumping a new PB of 2.70 metres, 7cm, beyond his old best.

Under 13’s

100 & 200 Metres Sprints

In the boys 100 metres sprint final, William Rusling, ran a new PB of 14.76 sec, taking three hundredths off his old best. Noah Sibary, qualified to compete in the final, but was unable to run. Freya Vidal, took 2nd place, in the girls 100 metres final, running a new PB of 13.80 sec, clipping 0.11 sec off her old mark. Olivia Doyle, took 3rd place, in the 100 metres final, she too ran a new PB of 13.94 sec, shaving three hundredths, off her old best. Olivia Doyle took a 4th place finish, in the 200 metres final, running a new PB of 30.32 sec, a 0.34 sec. improvement. Grace McCracken, on her competitive debut, took 5th place, in the 200 final, establishing a PB of 30.49 sec.

Hurdles

Max Wright, ran in his first 75 metres hurdles race, where he took a 2nd place finish, and established a PB of 17.73 sec. Matilda Wright, took a 3rd place finish, in the girls 70 metres hurdles, running a new PB of 15.45 sec, taking 0.37 sec, off her old mark.

800 Metres Race – Girls & Boys

Noah Sibary, was the winner of, the mixed 800 metres race, running the two lap race, in a time of 2:31.87 sec. Alfred Scruton, took 4th place in the race, with his run of 2:43.70 sec. 5th place, went to Lydia Greenwood, with her run of 2:46.95 sec, with Freya Everington, taking 11th place, running a new PB of 3:04.54 sec, taking 5.06 sec off her old time.

Long Jump

Freya Vidal, was the winner, of the girls long jump, leaping to a new PB of 4.28 metres, 34cm beyond her old best. Olivia Doyle, took 2nd place, with her jump of 4.07 metres. Josephine Kidger, took 11th place, with her leap of 3.33 metres, and Ruby Watts jumped a new PB of 2.66 metres, an advance of 35cm, for 15th place. The boys event, saw Tom Frost, take 2nd place, jumping a new PB of 4.36 metres, 25cm beyond his old mark, with William Rusling, taking 3rd place, jumping a new PB of 4.29 metres, a 4cm advance. Noah Sibary’s leap of 3.99 metres, gave him an 8th place finish.

Javelin Throw

Holly Cresswell, competed in her first javelin competition, her throw of 18.30 metres, was enough to win the event, and establish a PB. Josephine Kidger, took 6th place, with her throw of 14.02 metres, Matilda Wright took 9th place, with a throw of 10.45 metres, and Ruby Watts, was 10th, with 10.30 metres.

Discus Throw

Holly Cresswell, made her competitive debut, in the discus event, where she took a 2nd place finish, and established a PB, with her throw of 15.80 metres. Ruby Watts, took 3rd place, and established a PB of 10.39 metres.

Under 15’s

100 Metres – Sprint Finals

The girls final, saw Elsa Thompson take victory in the race, running a new PB of 12.63 sec, shaving  0.16 sec, off her old time. Tilly Cairns took a 3rd place finish, with her run of 13.28 sec. 4th place, went to Lois Richardson, who clocked a time of 13.41 sec, and Libby Hakney, ran her season’s best time of 13.60 sec, for 6th place. Eve Cusack, ran a new PB of 15.72 sec in the heats, but missed out on the final. The boys 100 metres final, saw Gabriel Li La-Vigars, take a 3rd place finish, running a time of 13.37 sec. Gerrit Theron, made his club debut, in the 100 final, taking 4th place, and establishing a PB of 13.54 sec. Louis Coulman, took 5th place, running a time of 15.63 sec.

Girls 200 Metres & 300 Metres – Sprint Finals

Elsa Thompson, completed the sprint double, running the 200 metres in a time of 26.28 sec, Lois Richardson took 3rd place, with her run of 29.27 sec, with Emma Hoggard, taking a 6th place finish, running a time of 30.63 sec. in the 300 metres final, Emma Hoggard, took 3rd place, clocking a time of 48.71 sec. Lydia Moore took 4th place in the 300 metres, where she ran a new PB of 48.98 sec, clipping 1.02 sec off her old time.

Long Jump

Gabriel Li La-Vigars, was the winner of the boys long jump, with his leap of 4.92 metres. In the girls event, Lydia Moore took 10th place, with her jump of 3.93 metres, and Eve Cusack took 11th place, jumping a new PB of 3.92 metres, 30 cm beyond her old mark. In 12th place was Emma Hoggard, who also jumped a new PB of 3.77 metres, 10cm beyond her old best.

Discus Throw

Alex Chivers, was the winner of the boys event, with his throw of 18.73 metres. In the girls competition, Holly Adams, was the winner of the contest, with her throw, of 31.43 metres, with Bethan Candlin taking 2nd place, with a throw of 23.01 metres. Lydia Moore, took 3rd, with 22.16 metres, and Izzy Watts, in her first discus event, took 4th place, and established a PB of 17.33 metres.

Javelin Throw

Alex Chivers, was the winner of the boys javelin event, throwing a new PB of 38.14 metres, 76cm beyond his old best. Gabriel Li-La-Vigars, took 2nd place in the competition, with his throw of 30.66 metres.

Sprint Finals

Men & Women – 100 Metres

In the men’s 100 metres final, Archie Yeo was the race winner, running a time of 11.36 sec. Brody Hinson took a 2nd place finish, clocking a time of 11.50sec. Ashton Davis took the 3rd spot, running a new PB of 12.91 sec, taking 0.61 off his old time. On his competitive debut, Jasveer Jabbal, took a 7th place finish, and established a PB of 13.01 sec. The Women’s final saw Eve Anderson, take a 3rd place finish, running a time of 14.50 sec.

Men’s 200 Metres

The winner of the men’s 200 metres final, was Brody Hinson, who clocked a time of 23.64 sec. Adam Fox took 2nd place, running a new PB of 24.17 sec, taking 0.22 off his old time. Harvey Southcoat took a 4th place finish, running a time of 26.16 sec, with Ashton Davis in 5th, with his run of 26.54 sec, and Jasveer Jabbal took 6th place, and established a PB of 26.83sec.

200 metres Mixed Race

Jodie Martin, took 3rd place in the mixed, men and women’s, 200 metres, where she ran her seasons best time of 26.74 sec. Gerrit Theron, running in his first 200 race, took a 4th place finish, and established a PB of 27.95 sec.

Women’s 300 metres

Jodie Martin, was the winner of the 300 metres race, running a time of 42.69 sec, the 2nd place finisher, was Rosie Shepherd, running in her first 300 race, who established a PB of 46.74 sec. Eve Anderson, who was also running in her first 300 took 3rd place, and established a PB of 47.64 sec. Marija Miklasevic, also made her 300 debut, taking 4th place, and establishing a PB of 54.10 sec.

Men’s 400 Metres

Adam Fox, was the winner of 400 metres race, running a time of 55.60 sec. 2nd place went to Harvey Southcoat, who clocked a time of 58.99 sec.

Women’s 1500 Metres

Ella Shaw-Hall, took a 4th place finish, in the women’s 1500 race, running a time of 5:18.47 sec, Georgina North took 6th place, with her run of 5:36.72 sec, and Marija Miklasevic, running her first 1500, took 9th place in the race, and established a PB of 5:50.42 sec

Mixed Long Jump

Oliver Adnitt, took 2nd place in the mixed long jump, with his leap of 5.20 metres. In his first competitive long jump, Josh Webster, took 6th place, and established a PB of 4.86 metres. Eve Anderson, took 7th place, with her leap of 4.35 metres.

Men’s Discus & Javelin

Oliver Adnitt, took 2nd place in the men’s discus event, where he threw a new PB, of 23.18 metres, 3.18 metres beyond his old mark. Oliver  was also the winner of the men’s javelin, with his throw of 28.16 metres.

Women’s Javelin Throw

Holly Adams, was the winner of the women’s javelin, where she threw a new PB of 35.87 metres, 96cm beyond her old mark. Izzy Watts, took 3rd place, with her throw of 23.18 metres. Rosie Shepherd took 5th place, throwing a new PB of 19.09 metres, 1.83 metres beyond her old best, and Bethan Candlin took 6th, throwing a new PB of 18.84 metres, 2.80 metres, beyond her old mark.
