Safeguarding and Codes of Conduct

Everyone involved in Athletics has a collective responsibility to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment for the sport.

All of our members, parents and volunteers have a duty of care towards each other and, as a club, our first priority is the safety of our members. As part of your involvement in the Club we require you to sign up to the England Athletics Codes of Conduct and have an understanding of the Club's own policies and Codes (listed in the links below). If you are unsure whether you have accepted the EA Codes of Conduct please log in to My Athletics Portal and check using the menu in the top right corner.

It is everyone’s responsibility to report any concerns of bad practice, poor behaviour or safeguarding to a member of the Welfare Team. Concerns raised will be dealt with in a sensitive manner using the Safeguarding Procedures and Grievance and Disciplinary Process when required.

All those involved in Club related activity are expected to:

Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person within the club

Have a moral and legal duty of care towards children and vulnerable adults, safeguard their wellbeing and protect them from abuse and poor practice.

Condemn the use of recreational and performance enhancing drugs and doping practices.

Athletics is one of the most accessible sports in the UK. All children who take part are entitled to participate in a fun and safe environment and everyone involved in our club should play a part in safeguarding them.
