Are you wanting to support our youngest athletes? Could you offer some of your time and volunteer to develop our U11 athletes?
We have 2 free places on a Funetics Activator course which would qualify you to deliver the Funetics programme to our U11 Junior Academy Athletes.
This course is open to all - newcomers are welcome!
Course Details:
Online Modules One and Two: (Work through in own time prior to the in person session)
In person Session: 17th May 2025 11:00-14:00, Pocklington School, West Green, Pocklington, York, YO42 2NJ
Safeguarding: 21st May 2025 18:30-20:30 (plus online module)
First Aid Online Module: (Work through in own time)

Full Course Overview:
The course consists of two online modules to work through in your own time.
Online Module 1
- Overview of Funetics
- Child Development
- Skill Development
- Delivering to Young People
Online Module 2
- Delivering to Young Athletics
- Session Safety
- Risk Assessments
- Plan / Do / Review (content delivery)
The in person practical session looks to apply the theoretical content covered in the online modules in a practical environment -
- It includes practical opportunities to implement the Activator skills of:
- Rapport building
- Individual centred delivery
- Safety
- Organisation
- Instruction & Explanation
- Demonstration
In addition, the course also includes the requirement to complete the mandatory training of Safeguarding (a virtual classroom session, plus online module) and First Aid (online module), as well as requiring a DBS check and uploading a passport style photo (for the license card).
