Commitment to Safeguarding and Ethical Practices
Athletics is one of the most accessible and inclusive sports in the UK, and we are committed to ensuring that all children and young people who participate in our club are provided with a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Safeguarding is our number one priority, and it is the responsibility of everyone involved in the club to contribute to this mission.
We expect all members, coaches, volunteers, and parents to:
- Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every individual within the club
- Uphold a moral and legal duty of care towards children and vulnerable adults, ensuring their wellbeing is safeguarded and protecting them from any form of abuse or poor practice
- Condemn the use of recreational and performance-enhancing drugs, and stand against doping practices
It is everyone’s responsibility to report any concerns regarding poor behavior, safeguarding issues, or unethical practices. Concerns should be reported to a member of the Welfare Team, who will handle the matter sensitively in accordance with the club’s Safeguarding Procedures and Grievance & Disciplinary Procedures.
